Under Construction!
Categories: life
The site’s going to look a little wonky for a while, as I’m putting up a new layout. Please be patient! Thanks!
Oh no, not a cold..

I’m getting sick.
I bought some orange juice and I’m trying to take it easy, so hopefully I can get rid of it before it gets insanely bad. (My colds have a tendency to do that.)
I will definitely have to take photos of the new apartment! I still have some unpacking to do, but as soon as I’m done (and I find which box I packed the USB cord for my digital camera.. lol), I’ll post photos. Also, thanks for the congratulations!
There’s not a lot to update on; my car is going back into the shop (this time it just needs the tires balanced and rotated) — thankfully, we have a family friend who does it for free.
I love having connections! Aside from that, I’ve just been busy unpacking and trying to settle into this new place. The only thing I’m bummed about is that we won’t get trick or treaters here, because we’ve got security doors (the kind you have to buzz the apartment to get in). I didn’t get to hand out candy last year, either, so I’m kinda sad about that.. maybe I’ll throw candy off the balcony.
Haha, just kidding.. that’d make my downstairs neighbors love me!
Oh, and thank you Katya for your contribution to A Daughter’s Love for Her Mother. It means so much to me! I have a lot of the bracelets made already, so if anyone else is interested in one, just let me know.
Anyway, I better get going, Nick gets off work at 9pm and I haven’t started dinner yet! Eek!
PS: Nick and I went to see Saw 4 last night. Good movie. A lot of people were disappointed in it, but I personally liked it. I can’t believe how thought out those movies are..
PermalinkAll moved in!
Thankfully, we’re pretty much done moving into our new apartment. We had an awesome moving crew — four boys and one girl, so it went really quickly, and all we had to do was feed them pizza! Haha.
Anyway, my car is all better now. The left rear brake cylinder was dragging or something.. so it had to be replaced, etc. The shop that we take our cars to is amazing! Another thing to be thankful for: it didn’t cost an insane amount of money. A lot, yes, but I can handle this amount.
The new apartment is beautiful.. I can’t get over it! It’s upstairs, the rooms are bigger, the appliances are all brand new, we have a balcony.. it’s just amazing. We had a little mix up when we started moving in.. my landlord gave me a keyring that said Apartment 8. Well, apartment 8 was empty, so we moved all our stuff in.. and then we found out we were in the wrong apartment. We seriously had to move all of our stuff down the hallway, to the correct apartment. I could’ve cried. Nick wanted to punch the guy in the face. Haha.. oh well, such is life!
I gotta get going for right now though, because my mom is on her way over to help me clean the old apartment. Hope everyone had an awesome weekend — mine was insane!

Wow.. sorry for the lack of updates the past few days! I went to my parents’ for the weekend (again.. I’m trying to make it a weekly thing, if you couldn’t tell!). While I was driving there, I heard a weird noise coming from the left rear side of my car. Fortunately, nothing bad happened (knock on wood), but my brake light came on last night. So I have to drive back to my parents’ tonight and drop my car off at the shop. I don’t know where the money for that is going to come from, seeing as Nick and I have been pinching pennies for moving as it is.
Speaking of moving, I’ve just been going through things and seeing what I can throw away. I don’t feel like dragging a bunch of stuff we really don’t need to the new apartment. I’m really looking forward to the move.. well, sort of. I don’t mind the packing so much as the hauling things up the stairs (since we’re moving to an upper level apartment). At least we’ll have a balcony and patio door!
I’m waiting for boxes (my parents and Nick’s parents are getting them for us), so until we get those, all I can really do is dispose of things we don’t need. We’ve found a bunch of stuff we’re going to try and sell somewhere (having decided whether it’ll be online or what). The extra cash will be nice!
In other news, I’ve been going to the gym as often as possible (although I didn’t go Friday-Sunday night, because I was at my parents’).. I want to go tonight, but depending on if I get my mom to bring me back over here, I might have to stay with my parents’ until my car is done.
Oh well.
So updates might be few and far between for a little while, I don’t know. It depends on how quickly we get this moving thing going and how long I have to stay at my parents’ (if I have to stay at all). I’ll try and keep everyone posted.
And last but not least, if you haven’t yet — please check out A Daughter’s Love for Her Mother! J got her bracelet and she loves it.
I really need to spread the word about the project.. I just haven’t had a lot of time on my hands. But one of the bracelets would make an awesome Christmas gift for your mom, sister, friend, etc! Plus the money goes to a good cause.. you’re helping a young girl help her best friend (who just so happens to be her mom).
And thanks for all the awesome comments on the move! If anybody has any moving tips, please let me know.. I’m trying to think of things to save time/money/etc.
PermalinkYay!
The gym last night was great. I walked 1.4 miles (quite fast, too).. which isn’t a lot, but I didn’t want to overdo it, considering I haven’t been feeling very well. I think I’m going to go again tonight (I’m only paying for day passes right now, until I decide whether or not I want a membership).
In other news, Nick and I have decided to move into a bigger apartment! I’m excited. We’re taking over someone else’s lease, so we’re not sure when we get to move (probably end of this month/early next month), but it’ll be nice. The new apartment is SO much bigger and SO much nicer than the one we’re in now! The only thing I’m not looking forward to is packing and moving all of our stuff. Especially since we’re going to be moving into an upstairs apartment. But oh well.. it’ll be worth it.
I’ve been playing around with Paint Shop Pro today. I made some spiffy little icons! I always thought icons looked really difficult to make, but they’re really not too bad. Here’s some of my creations:

I’m still working on laundry and such today.. it’s a gloomy day outside (in fact, we’ve got a tornado watch until 8:30pm!), so I might just curl up and read a book while the laundry is going.
EDITED TO ADD:
Check out this video. It’s adorable.. totally sums up every cat I know!
Also: I added a widget to the ADLHM page, in effort to make things easier.
