I’m still here!
Categories: animals, family, holidays, life, movies, travel, video games, weather
Sorry that it’s been so long since I posted! It’s been a crazy week. I decided to go to my parents’ at the last minute last Friday, and the weather was horrible so I barely made it back here on Sunday.. then we had Christmas with Nick’s family on Monday, and my family on Tuesday. Christmas was pretty good this year.. it doesn’t have the same charm as it did when I was a child, but what can you do. Now, the infamous question.. what did I get for Christmas?
- Nintendo DS.. the red and black one! (from Nick)
- 3 games for it (Brain Age is one of them, and it’s really interesting!)
- New pajamas (which I desperately needed!)
- Slipper socks
- Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix
- Pixar Short Films (LOVE this!)
- Mater alarm clock (I’m obsessed, ok?!)
- Marilyn Monroe anniversary clock (she’s my idol!)
- $70 (from Aunt & Grandma)
- & other assorted goods including candy (of course!), tea, cookies, etc.
(I’ll add pictures sometime..)
I used the money I got from my Aunt & Grandma to buy a couple of things I wanted at Hot Topic.. including a Harry Potter sweatshirt, t-shirt, and a couple of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends things.. LOVE that show!
In other news, Sophie doesn’t appear to be doing too well.. her eyes are really weepy lately and her paw is horrible looking. I think she may have had a bloody nose, too. I feel so bad.. I wish there was something more I could do for her.
But I just give her lots of love. At least she’s still eating well, so maybe she’s not doing as bad as she looks. I don’t know..
Well, I gotta run again, Nick is almost off of work and I have to finish up laundry! Hope everyone had an awesome holiday!
Christmas 2007
Since Christmas is getting closer and closer (this month just flew by!), I decided to make my “Christmas 2007″ post. It’s image heavy, so don’t say I didn’t warn you!
I’ve fallen behind!
Wow, I haven’t blogged in a couple of days. That’s insane. But I have a reason.. I’ve been sick with a chest cold for about a week now, and it just got to the point where I had zero energy. Now I’m starting to feel a little better.. thank goodness, because I want to go and visit my parents soon! (I didn’t go this past weekend because I was sick and didn’t want to get my parents sick.)
Nick starts his new job on Wednesday. He has orientation at 6PM. We still have to go somewhere to find steel-toed, slip resistant boots. My dad is trying to convince Nick to get a particular pair of boots, but I don’t know if we’ll have time to run out of town to the particular store that carries them. My dad works for the same company as Nick will be working for, but in my hometown. Dad’s worked there for six years and the pay/benefits are awesome. So I’m really happy for Nick.
Not much else is new. I really wish I had more to write about! Oh well.. maybe next time. I have to get going though, because Nick and I have plans to go bowling with a few of his friends. Have a good night, everyone!
PS: Sophie still seems to be doing well. She’s drinking an awful lot of water, but I guess that’s a good thing.. at least we know she’s staying hydrated. I just wish there was something more I could do for her!
PermalinkThe weather outside is frightful..
Haha, Christmas is definitely in the air. I’m having a hard time finding a couple of the gifts I want to get for Nick (which is why I haven’t bought them yet).. but I’ll track them down. I’m afraid to write about them on here, in case he reads this. He’s already having a hard time not tearing open the one gift he DOES have under the tree.
I guess him and his parents open presents really early. This year, his parents exchanged gifts on the 10th of December. My parents always make me wait until at least Christmas Eve, if not Christmas Day. When do you open gifts?
We actually went to a “White Elephant” Christmas party last night at a friend’s house. It was a lot of fun — a lot of people showed up! And the munchies were great.
The gifts we ended up receiving were a bath and body set (Nick got this one, he started out with maxi pads but someone stole them from him!), and a Garfield Chia pet. White Elephant parties are so fun. I think I might try to have one of my own next year.
Sophie seems to be doing okay.. she’s still her cute and adorable little self, and she doesn’t appear to be in a lot of pain. So that’s good. Thanks everyone for your kind words; we (Sophie and I!) appreciate them very much.
PS: I’m thinking about putting up a different theme.. I want to stick with my Nip/Tuck header, but this theme is just driving me crazy.. so if stuff gets wonky, please be patient!
Thank you!
Do you have bad credit?
If so, there’s an awesome site that provides bad credit loans. I don’t have the best credit myself, since I attempted to go to college twice and have a hefty remaining balance to pay yet. While browsing around on the site, I found information on credit counseling. This would be perfect for me, to help cut my balance down and consolidate my debt. If you have bad credit, don’t lose hope… someone out there is willing to help.
