Adventures in MN

Tonight we went to the Mall of America and ate at Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Co. It was fun; the atmosphere was very friendly and our food was quite tasty. ) I bought a t-shirt and a keychain (okay, so I’m a sucker for souveniers, even though I live here).

We walked around the mall for a while and did a little bit of shopping (not a whole lot, we’ve got important stuff for the apartment we need to save up for). J bought a huge black light, a black light poster, and some incense. He also bought me a Sweeney Todd poster. ♥ I’m starting a collection of movie posters.

I’m SO exhausted. I’m sorry my blog’s been so boring lately; that’s just how life’s been.

Ick.

I have a stomach bug. ( It hurts. Bleh.

In other news, I’m pretty proud of myself. I’ve started exercising again. J & I like to go for walks; when it’s nice outside, we walk around town.. and when it’s rainy/cold/windy, we walk around the Mall of America. And boy, is THAT a work out! Hopefully it’ll start paying off and I can shed some of these extra pounds I gained during the winter.

I’m watching The Golden Compass right now. It’s a really neat concept, but I’m afraid I can’t seem to follow it. I think I’ll read the book.

Anyway, I’m gonna get going. It’s been a long day.

Sweeney Todd

If you haven’t gone to see it, GO. Johnny Depp is reason enough, in my opinion. But you also get TWO actors and ONE actress from the Harry Potter movies (Snape, Wormtail, & Bellatrix)! It was amazing. I can’t even express how awesome it was. Quite different than I expected, but not in a bad way.

Before going to see Sweeney Todd, Nick and I stopped by a local pet store to see a guinea pig we heard would be up for adoption. Apparently, she had a broken leg and now that it’s mended, they’re trying to find someone to adopt her. Nick and I have been trying to determine if we have the funds necessary to adopt her or not; she’s a doll and soo sweet, but I’m just not sure. Since *coughNickgotaspeedingticketcough*. :/ We’ll see, though.

Riddick (my albino leopard gecko) is getting SO big! I remember when he was just a little dude who couldn’t even eat baby crickets, and now he’s eating 3-4 full-grown crickets a day! I’ll have to update his photo, because his colors are more prominent now as well. )

Anyway, I have to go.. laundry is calling me!

PS: I think hope my car is fixed. It seems to be doing better now, at least.

Quick Update

Just a quick update to say I’m going to Mom & Dad’s for the weekend.. which is awesome, because it’s been about 3 weeks due to weather and stuff! I can’t wait to see my parents! D

Also: Sophie is on pain meds and she’s feeling quite a bit better (she’s still eating and drinking well and is much more active), so I’m happy about that. I’m still just keeping her as comfortable as possible. (I’m really hoping something doesn’t happen to her while I’m at Mom & Dad’s, that would be awful!)

Well, that’s about it. I should be home Sunday afternoon/early evening. Nick and I hope to go to Sweeney Todd. We watched the making of it last night, and it looked SO good!

Have an awesome weekend everybody! )

PS: I decided to random plug a couple of friends because they’re awesome like that. P

I’m still here!

Sorry that it’s been so long since I posted! It’s been a crazy week. I decided to go to my parents’ at the last minute last Friday, and the weather was horrible so I barely made it back here on Sunday.. then we had Christmas with Nick’s family on Monday, and my family on Tuesday. Christmas was pretty good this year.. it doesn’t have the same charm as it did when I was a child, but what can you do. Now, the infamous question.. what did I get for Christmas? P

- Nintendo DS.. the red and black one! (from Nick)
- 3 games for it (Brain Age is one of them, and it’s really interesting!)
- New pajamas (which I desperately needed!)
- Slipper socks
- Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix
- Pixar Short Films (LOVE this!)
- Mater alarm clock (I’m obsessed, ok?!)
- Marilyn Monroe anniversary clock (she’s my idol!)
- $70 (from Aunt & Grandma)
- & other assorted goods including candy (of course!), tea, cookies, etc.
(I’ll add pictures sometime..)

I used the money I got from my Aunt & Grandma to buy a couple of things I wanted at Hot Topic.. including a Harry Potter sweatshirt, t-shirt, and a couple of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends things.. LOVE that show! D

In other news, Sophie doesn’t appear to be doing too well.. her eyes are really weepy lately and her paw is horrible looking. I think she may have had a bloody nose, too. I feel so bad.. I wish there was something more I could do for her. ( But I just give her lots of love. At least she’s still eating well, so maybe she’s not doing as bad as she looks. I don’t know..

Well, I gotta run again, Nick is almost off of work and I have to finish up laundry! Hope everyone had an awesome holiday! )
